No other job is so rewarding as enriching a child’s life – nor as important. At Mary Elizabeth Child Care & Preschool, we do far more than provide a warm and happy haven for children while they are in our care. We also create a nurturing, educational environment, where children can spend their formative years learning the skills they will need to flourish during the rest of their lives.

Our Role is Far from Passive

We also provide age-appropriate education to each of our children as we help to ensure they achieve important developmental milestones.

Our all-encompassing approach to child care includes reading to toddlers as they learn the subtleties of the English language, guiding preschoolers to develop their thinking, fine motor, and math skills, and assisting elementary school students with their homework. In short, when we see an opportunity to help children along their journeys to becoming happy, independent and ambitious young adults, we do not let it pass by. No child deserves any lesser commitment to their well-being!

We are a proud participant in the Sioux City Preschool Initiative and provide quality state-verified preschool programing and curriculum. Our classrooms meet the guidelines for Siouxland Human Investment Partnership scholarships. Please visit siouxlandship.org for scholarship information.

Program Services

Children ages 2 to 10
Open 6 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Before and after school care for neighborhood students
State approved meal plans for breakfast, lunch and two daily snacks
Referrals for speech, hearing and special needs

Preschool Includes:

Small and large motor skills
Socialization
Language and thinking activities
Art, crafts and music activities

School Age Programming Includes:

Homework assistance
Art, crafts and music activities
Library story hour
Special summer programs, including swimming lessons

It is because of generous private donations, grants, scholarships, government funding and the United Way of Siouxland that we are able to provide 12 different funding options for low-income families.
